WASHINGTON, D.C. – With the 2021 NFL season now in the books, players throughout the league are taking steps to develop their professional careers off the field by participating in the fourth annual NFLPA #AthleteAnd Workshop on Tuesday. This one-of-a kind event will take place virtually and is exclusively available to professional athletes from across all sports.

Through a variety of interactive sessions, more than 75 player participants will discover what it takes to live out their “And,” all while growing their network, building their personal brand and gaining insight from industry leaders on how to best leverage their athletic careers. By the end of the day-long workshop, attendees will have the tools necessary to write their own endings to the phrase “Athlete And ___.”

The event, which is geared toward the unique lifestyle of professional athletes, will be emceed by former NFL player and current NFL Network analyst Bucky Brooks. Programming begins with a transparent discussion between NFLPA chief brand ambassador Marshawn Lynch (former All-Pro running back) and his former teammate Michael Robinson (NFL Network analyst) featuring tips on how athletes can best maximize their platforms.

Next, there will be panels geared toward brand development and entrepreneurship. NFL defensive end Isaac Rochell will be joined by Ty Young (entrepreneur and former WNBA player) and Opendorse CEO Blake Lawrence to offer insight on how athletes can benefit from displaying their authentic, whole self on social media. Then, NFL veteran and CEO of Cash Cards Unlimited Cassius Marsh will discuss how to build a business beyond the playing field alongside Cheyenne Parker (WNBA player and CEO of Born Queen Boutique LLC), Duke Ihenacho (Entrepreneur and lifestyle influencer) and Ryan Nece (Managing partner at NextPlay Capital)

2020 NFLPA Alan Page Community Award winner and NFL linebacker Brandon Copeland will dive into the future of #AthleteAnd before participants close out the workshop with their choice of learning labs – financial wisdom with Aaron Jones (Green Bay Packers running back) and Earn Your Leisure podcast hosts Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings; public speaking with ESPN host and reporter Malika Andrews; and leveraging your LinkedIn with senior account executive Zach Joyner.

About the NFL Players Association:
The National Football League Players Association is the union for professional football players in the National Football League. Established in 1956, the NFLPA has a long history of assuring proper recognition and representation of players’ interests. The NFLPA has shown that it will do whatever is necessary to assure that the rights of players are protected—including ceasing to be a union, if necessary, as it did in 1989. In 1993, the NFLPA again was officially recognized as the union representing the players, and negotiated a landmark Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFL. The current CBA will govern the sport through the 2030 NFL season. Learn more at www.nflpa.com.
