WASHINGTON, D.C. — The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) released a new episode of its AthleteAnd series on Wednesday, spotlighting Indianapolis Colts defensive back Kenny Moore II and his growing impact in the classroom as an eighth-grade life skills teacher at Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis.

Known on Sundays as one of the league’s most reliable corners, Moore has taken on a different role on Tuesdays—“Mr. Kenny”—leading conversations centered on financial literacy, relationships, mental health and decision-making.

“It feels like I've gained little brothers and sisters," Moore said. "Just like I want them to do well in the classroom, they want me to do well on Sundays.

Through his Love One Foundation, Moore partnered with Cardinal Ritter to launch the Rise and Shine Initiative, a program focused on accountability, consistency and helping students envision opportunities beyond the classroom.

What began as a simple visit—after reconnecting with former trainer and current athletic director Levar Johnson—quickly turned into a deeper commitment.

“He's taking it very seriously. He's not just here on Tuesdays—he shows up other days as well to support the students,” Johnson said. “He's part of the fabric. He's part of the community.”

Principal Kari Jost echoed that sentiment, noting Moore’s dedication even during the demands of the NFL season.

“When Kenny told me that he wanted to be in the building every week—even during the season—I thought it was remarkable,” Jost said. “He's always here with the kids and ready to work with them.”

Moore’s story highlights the power of purpose beyond the game, demonstrating how players can use their platforms to create meaningful, lasting connections within their communities.

The AthleteAnd campaign, originally launched in 2018, celebrates the multi-dimensional lives of NFL players and empowers them to share their stories beyond the game. This year’s new YouTube series, made in partnership with award-winning creative studio HEARTLENT Group, features exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and player-led conversations that dive into the diverse identities and off-field ambitions of NFLPA members.
