WASHINGTON, D.C. – The NFL Players Association is proud to welcome GoFundMe as a supporting partner this season for its award-winning NFLPA Community MVP program. By adding the world’s leading fundraising platform to one of the union’s hallmark initiatives, NFLPA player members will have the opportunity to broaden their charitable impact and raise more awareness for causes that positively impact their hometowns and team cities.

For 12 years running, the NFLPA Community MVP program has recognized the many philanthropic efforts of NFL athletes. Each week during the regular season, the NFLPA honors one player who has made a positive impact in his community. For being named the NFLPA Community MVP, the union makes a $10,000 donation to the player’s foundation or charity of choice.

Since its 2014 inception, 195 players have been recognized as a Community MVP and the NFLPA has donated nearly $3 million to the winning players’ charity of choice. Now, fans will also have the opportunity to donate toward players’ nonprofits of choice through this supporting partnership with GoFundMe. All donations are tax-deductible, and funds will go directly to the designated nonprofit organizations.

“I’m a firm believer that football is my platform to make a difference and raise awareness for causes that help people in need,” said New York Giants wide receiver and 2024 honoree Darius Slayton. “To be named an NFLPA Community MVP and also be selected as the Alan Page Community Award winner means a lot because it speaks to the legacy I want to leave as an athlete and servant in the community.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with the NFLPA to empower players to champion the causes that matter most to them,” said Margaret Richardson, GoFundMe’s Chief Marketing and Corporate Affairs Officer. “At GoFundMe, our mission is to help people help each other, and this collaboration allows fans to rally behind the passions and non-profits close to players’ hearts. Together, we can shine a brighter spotlight on these important causes and help them raise even more support to fuel their missions throughout the 2025 NFL season.”

The NFLPA is also proud to welcome back HEARTLENT Group and Young Minds Inspired (YMI) as supporting partners. Drawing upon its strong portfolio of work with athletes, players associations and agencies during the past four seasons, HEARTLENT’s award-winning creative studio has brought the NFLPA Community MVPs and their charitable work to life through dynamic, weekly illustrations and content.

For a second straight year, YMI will create a unique teaching kit featuring activity sheets and lesson plans inspired by the players’ community efforts and HEARTLENT’s artwork. Last season’s successful collaboration introduced the NFLPA Community MVPs to nearly 750 classrooms and more than 36,000 teachers and students across the country.

All 18 of the NFLPA Community MVPs become eligible for the Alan Page Community Award, which is the union’s highest player honor. Following a league-wide player vote, the winner receives an additional $100,000 donation from the NFLPA and is recognized at its annual Super Bowl press conference.
