Chicago’s Caleb Williams Named Week 14 NFLPA Community MVP
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Caleb Wiliams has been named the Week 14 NFLPA Community MVP after turning a special moment for him – his college jersey retirement ceremony – into an unforgettable day for kids from a local Boys & Girls Club in California. The experience featured interactive learning, time with Williams in the stadium tunnel and the thrill of running onto the field with the University of Southern California football team.
“I'm beyond grateful for the chance to use my platform to inspire the next generation,” the Chicago Bears quarterback said. “We had an awesome day with the kids from the LA Boys and Girls Club, showing them that big dreams are totally within reach. Huge shoutout to the NFLPA for spotlighting the incredible ways NFL players, like me, are making a positive impact in our communities.”
The day began with a visit to the Best Buy Tech Center, where the children explored the intersection of technology and football, engaging in hands-on activities by Microsoft that blended innovation with sports. Afterwards, the group went to LA Memorial Coliseum for VIP field access during pregame warm-ups and to meet up with Williams in the tunnel.
During the jersey retirement ceremony, the kids proudly stood behind Williams as he addressed the crowd before they all sprinted onto the field with the USC football team. Williams and his Caleb Cares non-profit covered all costs for the transportation, tickets, meals and T-shirts that helped make this tremendous event possible.
The former No. 1 overall draft pick founded Caleb Cares to create meaningful opportunities for youth through education, mentorship and empowerment. This year, Williams has committed to bringing more than 60 kids to each Bears home game with most of the children and teens coming from the south side of Chicago. His foundation provided transportation, a boxed lunch and a Williams jersey to each child that has attended a game.
In addition to these special events, the nonprofit also celebrates students who exemplify kindness and respect through the Caleb Cares Hero Award. Designed to combat bullying, this initiative has made a meaningful impact, with award ceremonies now held in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Chicago. Recipients of the Hero Award are honored with a custom backpack, an iPad Pro and other prizes, encouraging a culture of empathy and respect among young people.
Williams now becomes the third rookie this season and the fifth overall to earn NFLPA Community MVP honors.
In recognition of Williams being named the NFLPA Community MVP for Week 14, the NFLPA will donate $10,000 to his foundation or charity of choice. In turn, Williams will take part in a special visit to a local school, children’s hospital, or community center. Along with the other 2024-25 Community MVPs, he will also be eligible for the Alan Page Community Award, which is the NFLPA’s highest player honor and includes an additional $100,000 donation.
For its 11th season, the Community MVP program is teaming up with two supporting partners: Young Minds Inspired (YMI) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). As the nation's leading provider of free educational outreach programs, YMI will bring this year’s NFLPA Community MVPs to classrooms across the country through lesson plans about community service, inspired by the players' philanthropic work. BBBSA is also inviting this season’s Community MVPs to partner with its 230+ agencies across the country, providing these athletes with more opportunities to engage with youth through its volunteer-supported mentoring network.
The Community MVP campaign is part of the NFLPA's continued efforts to support the year-round civic outreach and engagement of its player members. Please visit the NFLPA Community MVP website to learn more about the program.

About the NFL Players Association:
The National Football League Players Association is the union for professional football players in the National Football League. Established in 1956, the NFLPA has a long history of assuring proper recognition and representation of players’ interests. The NFLPA has shown that it will do whatever is necessary to assure that the rights of players are protected—including ceasing to be a union, if necessary, as it did in 1989. In 1993, the NFLPA again was officially recognized as the union representing the players and negotiated a landmark Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFL. The current CBA will govern the sport through the 2030 NFL season. Learn more at www.nflpa.com.
