– Daily Fantasy Sports Provider to Feature NFL Players In Product and Live Fan Experiences –

WASHINGTON D.C., January 22, 2016 – Daily fantasy sports provider FanDuel and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA), via its marketing and licensing arm NFL Players Inc., today announced a multi-year group licensing partnership that allows for active NFL players to participate in FanDuel’s product marketing and promotions.

The new licensing agreement will provide FanDuel the right to employ active NFL players in product and related advertising across print, digital, online and broadcast media. Additionally, NFL players will be integrated into the one-day fantasy site’s rewards program, “FanDuel Points,” offering users the opportunity for exclusive player memorabilia and one-of-a-kind experiences. The partnership also allows for appearances by top players at numerous fan events including FanDuel’s annual World Fantasy Football Championship.

“We’re excited to work with FanDuel, and that more players are going to benefit from the thriving fantasy sports business,” said Ahmad Nassar, President, NFL Players Inc. “By featuring players in promotions and at some of their one-of-a-kind events, FanDuel is providing thousands of its users an authentic way to connect to their favorite players.”

“It’s our underlying mission to bring sports fans closer to the teams and players they love,” said Nigel Eccles, CEO and Co-founder, FanDuel. “And partnering with the NFLPA will allow us to do just that, giving our users access to the players on their lineups through unique experiences, promotions, and prizes.”

More than 56 million people in North America will play fantasy sports this year, according to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, and FanDuel is changing the way people engage with sports with more than five million registered users. The NFLPA’s Player Services team will help secure players to be featured in FanDuel’s marketing efforts. Today’s news expands the NFLPA’s venture into the increasingly competitive fantasy sports industry.

About the NFL Players Association

The National Football League Players Association is the union for professional football players in the National Football League. Established in 1956, the NFLPA has a long history of assuring proper recognition and representation of players’ interests. The NFLPA has shown that it will do whatever is necessary to assure that the rights of players are protected—including ceasing to be a union, if necessary, as it did in 1989. In 1993, the NFLPA again was officially recognized as the union representing the players, and negotiated a landmark Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFL. The current CBA will govern the sport through 2020.
