The air was humid, the course full of lush tropical greenery and 64 NFL players were ready to compete in the second annual NFLPA Golf Classic in Mexico.

The NFLPA created this exclusive and private event to bring together players and their families during the offseason for a time of relaxation, bonding and quality networking.

At the resort, players and their families were greeted with hospitality from NFLPA partners including apparel and golf gear. Dressed to the nines, the participating players loaded up their clubs and hit the course for the three-day event.

"Bad Day to Be a Golf Ball"

The tournament’s first round kicked off with 16 foursome teams and a team scramble play format. Captains included Joel Bitonio, Jacoby Brissett, Gabe Davis, Austin Ekeler, Dallas Goedert, Jordan Hicks, Marlon Humphrey, Aidan Hutchinson, Cole Kmet, Will Levis, Wil Lutz, Von Miller, Desmond Ridder, Harrison Smith, Courtland Sutton and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Overall, the tournament hosted two rounds and a championship bracket of 8 teams, with additional contests such as longest drive and closest to the pin for teams that did not compete in match play.

Throughout the tournament, players were met on and off the course with gifts, prizes and hospitality from NFLPA partners. As a hospitality partner, WHOOP served players on the course and gifted players their slick screen-free tracking device that provides personalized recommendations to improve overall health and wellness. The Classic was sponsored by TaylorMade, WHOOP, Fanatics, UNRL, Eastside Golf, Nike, Outerstuff, Wincraft, Imperial, Party Animal, UPI Marketing and Trophy Smack.

"Drive for Show, Putt for Dough"

Team Kmet and Team Smith met in the final match, and ultimately, Team Smith took home the title of the 2024 NFLPA Golf Classic Champion. Adorned in signature trophy belts from NFLPA partner Trophy Smack, Harrison Smith, Case Keenum, Adam Thielen and Eric Kendricks popped champagne in traditional Mexican sombreros to celebrate, closing out another memorable event on the links.
