OneTeam Collective Celebrates Two Years and Five New Partnerships
The NFLPA has announced five new partners via its athlete-driven accelerator, the OneTeam Collective. These early stage companies are integrating NFL players into new and exciting technology like active gaming, AI, crypto-collectibles, apps and live-streaming. Here is what you need to know about each partner:
What it is: A first-of-its kind innovation in the active gaming industry, Play Impossible GameballTM keeps both children and adults active.
How will players be involved? Play Impossible GameballTM will integrate NFL players into games through player avatars and player-themed leaderboards. Select players will also be asked to be brand ambassadors for the product.
What it is: An AI augmented video company offering a mobile app that allows users to augment themselves and their friends through human body recognition technology.
How will players be involved? Users can create videos where they can interact with more than 2,000 active NFL player avatars.
What it is: A live-streaming platform that enables anyone to become a color commentator. FanChain, a cryptocurrency, will allow users to earn tokens that can be used to unlock player content, send virtual gifts to NFL players and more.
How will players be involved? Active and former NFL players can provide live commentary across a wide range of professional and collegiate sports and share personal insights.
What it is: A social fitness app that allows fans to connect directly with professional athletes, sports personalities and celebrities who encourage improvements to diet, fitness and overall well-being. It was first founded to complement employee wellness programs, in turn helping to reduce employers’ healthcare costs.
How will players be involved? Players act as team captains and issue training tips and challenges to users, as well as community support.
What it is: A consumer-facing app that leverages NFL player intellectual property within blockchain-based collectibles and fantasy sport competition. Users are able to buy and trade the collectibles virtually, and compete with other users to win prizes.
How will players be involved? Hashletes will create an individual collectible for more than 2,000 current NFL players.
