Minnesota’s Camryn Bynum Named Week 15 NFLPA Community MVP
WASHINGTON D.C. – Camryn Bynum has been named the Week 15 NFLPA Community MVP for spreading holiday cheer and celebrating his Filipino culture through charitable events hosted by his Bynum Faith Foundation.
“I am extremely grateful to receive the NFLPA Community MVP award,” the Minnesota Vikings defender said. “I love being able to serve my community and show God’s love to everyone in any way that I can. I look forward to doing even more for my community in Minnesota, California and in the Philippines!”
On December 2, Bynum hosted his second annual “Holiday MOVIEEE Spree” and brought festive cheer to 25 children from the West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan Area Schools in Minnesota. Each child received a $100 gift card for a shopping spree, along with custom t-shirts, dinner, desserts and prizes. Bynum participated in the shopping experience and shared memorable moments with the children during the event.
The following week, Bynum celebrated his heritage by hosting his foundation’s annual Filipino Fiesta. The event featured traditional Filipino dances and cuisine, a karaoke contest, live music, a silent auction and raffle prizes. More than 300 people attended, with ticket sales benefitting the non-profit’s ongoing initiatives, including building boats for local fishermen in underserved villages throughout the Philippines.
The fourth-year safety has been committed to leveraging his platform for positive change since being drafted out of the University of California, Berkeley. Through the Bynum Faith Foundation’s efforts, he frequently engages with youth and charitable organizations in the U.S. and the Philippines to inspire others, rebuild communities in need of natural disaster relief and uplift those who are underserved.
This year, his foundation has been involved in various impactful projects, including partnering with Project Pearls Philippines to feed 500 children at a temporary shelter community in Tondo, Manila. Bynum also hosted his third annual “Manila Madness,” the first-ever Asian-International flag football camp, which welcomed 250 athletes. Additionally, Bynum recently worked alongside Minnesota volunteers to help restock a free community market that provides food for hundreds of households daily.
In recognition of Bynum being named the NFLPA Community MVP for Week 15, the NFLPA will donate $10,000 to his foundation or charity of choice. In turn, Bynum will take part in a special visit to a local school, children’s hospital, or community center. Along with the other 2024-25 Community MVPs, he will also be eligible for the Alan Page Community Award, which is the NFLPA’s highest player honor and includes an additional $100,000 donation.
For its 11th season, the Community MVP program is teaming up with two supporting partners: Young Minds Inspired (YMI) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). As the nation's leading provider of free educational outreach programs, YMI will bring this year’s NFLPA Community MVPs to classrooms across the country through lesson plans about community service, inspired by the players' philanthropic work. BBBSA is also inviting this season’s Community MVPs to partner with its 230+ agencies across the country, providing these athletes with more opportunities to engage with youth through its volunteer-supported mentoring network.
The Community MVP campaign is part of the NFLPA's continued efforts to support the year-round civic outreach and engagement of its player members. Please visit the NFLPA Community MVP website to learn more about the program.

About the NFL Players Association:
The National Football League Players Association is the union for professional football players in the National Football League. Established in 1956, the NFLPA has a long history of assuring proper recognition and representation of players’ interests. The NFLPA has shown that it will do whatever is necessary to assure that the rights of players are protected—including ceasing to be a union, if necessary, as it did in 1989. In 1993, the NFLPA again was officially recognized as the union representing the players and negotiated a landmark Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFL. The current CBA will govern the sport through the 2030 NFL season. Learn more at www.nflpa.com.
