Chicago’s Nick McCloud Named Week 16 NFLPA Community MVP

Chicago’s Nick McCloud Named Week 16 NFLPA Community MVP
Washington, D.C. – Nick McCloud has been selected as the Week 16 NFL Players Association (NFLPA) Community MVP after partnering with Daddy Victory Club (DVC) to host the Champions of Fatherhood Holiday Event, an experience that uplifted fathers of color and their young children through gifting, a catered meal, a powerful panel discussion and more.
“Being named NFLPA Community MVP of the week is an incredible honor,” McCloud said. “As a first-time dad, I’ve been reflecting a lot on the example my own father set for me and the importance of showing up.”
On December 9, the Chicago Bears defender welcomed 30 dads and their kids to Chicago’s Play Street Museum, an interactive learning and play space where children explored freely while the fathers engaged in meaningful conversation and community. The event created an environment centered on presence, encouragement and shared experiences — values that McCloud prioritizes on and off the field.
Each participating family received meaningful holiday support on McCloud’s behalf, including a fully stocked diaper bag provided in partnership with Keeping Families Covered and Share Our Space, a holiday shopping gift card, new winter coats for every child in the household, a fully catered meal and professional family portraits to capture the day.
A highlight of the event featured a powerful panel conversation between McCloud and his father, Nakia. The two shared candid reflections on fatherhood, accountability, perseverance and the importance of showing up consistently for one’s family. Their dialogue opened the door for honest discussion among attendees, reinforcing that strong, present fatherhood is learned, modeled and strengthened through community.
“For me, impact has always been about more than the football field — it’s about being present and serving every community I’m part of, from my home field to my hometown,” McCloud said. “Partnering with DVC is one way I’m able to do that by supporting families when it matters most.”
Service and mentorship are defining areas in McCloud’s mission. In his hometown of Rock Hill, South Carolina, he hosts an annual summer youth football camp focused on skill development, mentorship and leadership. He also supports local youth sports teams by helping fund travel opportunities, ensuring young athletes have access to meaningful competitive experiences. Through continued mentorship, McCloud remains committed to supporting the growth and development of the next generation.
In recognition of McCloud being named NFLPA Community MVP for Week 16, the NFL Players Association will donate $10,000 to his nonprofit of choice. Along with the other Community MVPs from this season, he will also be eligible for the Alan Page Community Award, which is the NFLPA’s highest player honor and includes an additional $100,000 donation.
As part of a new supporting partnership with GoFundMe, fans can now also make a donation directly to the BEAZT Foundation here. All donations are tax-deductible and will go directly to the player's selected nonprofit.
Now in its 12th season, the NFLPA’s award-winning Community MVP campaign is part of the union’s continued efforts to support the year-round civic outreach and engagement of its player members. Community MVPs are selected by a committee of NFLPA staff that reviews the weekly nominees, which are submitted by players, agents, marketing representatives and NFL team staff.
