Injuries are tough, so we want you to know what a settlement would mean for you.
Injury settlements remove all obligations the team has to you regarding the injury. They wipe out the following:
- The club’s obligation to pay for treatment until you are cleared to play
- Claims to future salary in that league year
- Injury protection benefits for the following seasons if you aren’t physically able to play
- Your ability to buy Super Bowl tickets (players on IR can buy two SB tickets)
- Your ability to collect post-season money
- If you settle for less than three weeks of regular season pay, you don’t get a credited season, you don’t get health insurance as an active player for the year, and you don’t get a royalty payment.
